Live Program 2018
Eisen plays KlangStahl (SoundSteel)
Peter Eisold – as Eisen – plays sound sculptures by Thomas Rother
Thursday | April 19th | 6:30pm – 7:30pm
“The creaking and banging, clanging and whirring in steel mills, mines and iron works, the roaring and whistling of the blast furnaces, the crashing and panting, grunting and groaning of the steam hammers, the hissing of fire, the noise of the people – those are the sounds with which the Rhine-Ruhr-land was dragged forward in the 19th century. When my sound sculptures are struck, they are reminders of this and, in the 21st century, of a reconciliation with the overexploitation of man and nature. The din of heavy industry is behind us. Today we are surrounded by other acoustic and optical noise – at every location.” Thomas Rother

Dirk Dzimirsky (born 1969) is a German artist who is known for his hyper-realistic drawings and paintings of people. His carefully elaborated stagings of light and shadow reveal the sensitivity and vulnerability of its models. An extreme level of detail in combination with calculated set of light create an enigmatic mood of melancholic beauty in his images. Dzimirsky’s works has been exhibited in the US, Europe and Tokyo and are part of numerous international private collections.
