Straight from the Studio: Artplaner at Discovery Art Fair Frankfurt

Artplaner launched in 2024 as an international online marketplace for contemporary art, including painting, graphic work, sculpture, and photography, curated but offered directly by the artists themselves. Painter Uli Lächelt founded it, and in July 2026 it added a physical space, the Galerie Lächelt in Wismar. In 2025 it had already been named one of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s winning start-ups and sent to Slush in Helsinki.
The 2026 edition of the Discovery Art Fair in Frankfurt will feature four artists from Artplaner’s roster.

Natali Part

Natali Part works in mixed media on antique, collaged book pages. Her works feature figurative drawings, usually in a reduced palette with strong red highlights, infused with powerful cultural or personal symbolism. Born in Leningrad into a Russian-Ukrainian family of artists and raised in her grandmother’s bookshop, she studied literature in South Korea and later philosophy and world religions before settling in Austria in 2003. She describes her central theme as the “evolution of consciousness,” and she will show her recent pieces, Colombina contra systema (2025) and Cats cradle #2 (2026).

Ralph Richter

Ralph Richter shares a somewhat related practice, working on antiquated printed paper in mixed media, heavy in texture and infused with a documentary symbolism that carries the emotional weight of his work. Born in Berlin-Kreuzberg in 1962 and trained as a joiner, Richter founded his own workshop in 1989. Since 2019, he has developed a process he calls Pressage, fusing printed paper, ink, and solid wood into low relief. He lives and works in Lübeck. Richter will also show a selection of recent works, including Documents III – Notre Dame Clear and Document IV – Notre Dame Obscure (both 2019).

Uli Lächelt

Uli Lächelt brings a different tone to the group. Working in acrylic and in hues of blue, he renders distant urban and construction-site vistas, linear portraits and outlines of recognizable figures. His language is clear and distinct, carrying intangible, memory-like tones, fleeting glimpses of certain moments, while the background turns somewhat impressionistic or textured, rich and tactile. Movement is his recurring subject, underlined with a refreshing use of light. He paints from a studio in Wismar and is the founder behind Artplaner. Lächelt will exhibit a selection of his recent pieces, including Final Call (2026), Libelle (2020) and Zahnbecher und Zahnbürste (2025).

mr clement

mr clement works in a recognizable cartoonish language built around a recurring rabbit figure, through which he renders universal subjects: the human condition, life and even death, transience, the problems of the everyday. The result is reduced and fun both to look at and to read. Born in Hong Kong in 1980 and based in Tokyo after training at the Royal College of Art in London, he has exhibited internationally, attracting the attention of the public and collectors. This artist of an interesting moniker will present his Little Champions (2023) and The Landscape Before Takeoff (2025) at the upcoming fair.

Presenting a diverse and refreshing curation, Natali Part, Ralph Richter, Uli Lächelt and mr clement will join forces at the Artplaner booth at Discovery Art Fair Frankfurt, 30 October – 1 November 2026.
